Pints, Pizza & Posters Saturday Adult Class

During this class you will work as a group to create and print 

12” x 18”, 1 color posters using wood and metal type along with vintage imagery. Posters will be printed on our Vandercook Universal I press. Each person will print up to 6 copies of their poster to swap with the group, so you’ll walk away with different posters. Pizza and soft drinks will be served and we welcome you to byob. Class will be 2–3 hours based on class size and how quickly everyone works. Class size is a minimum of 2 and a max of 6. The fee is $45 per person and payment and reservations must be made in advance.


February class dates: 

2/13 from 6 – 8 p.m.

2/28 from 6 – 8 p.m.

March class dates:

3/5 from 6 – 8 p.m. 

3/19 from 6 – 8 p.m.


Pop, Pizza & Posters Sunday Kids 12 & Up Class

During this class kids 12 years old and up will work as a group to create and print 8” x 10”, 1 color mini posters using wood and metal type along with vintage imagery. Posters will be printed on our Vandercook No.1 press. Each person will print up to 4 copies of their poster to swap with the group, so they’ll walk away with different posters. Pizza and soft drinks will be served. Class will be 2–3 hours based on class size and how quickly everyone works. Class size is a minimum of 2 and a max of 4. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The adult may take the class as well or opt to just hang out. The fee is $35 per person and payment and reservations must be made in advance.

February class dates: 

2/21 from 2 – 4 p.m. 

March class dates:

3/13 from 2 – 4 p.m.

Jilly Jack Designs at NSS 2015

Here is proof that I'm set up and ready for the 2015 National Stationery Show at the Javits Center in New York. I'm sharing two huge booth spaces (92362 & 2363) with 13 other letterpress artists in the Ladies of Letterpress group booth. NSS is such an amazing show. The talent and amazing booths at this show never disappoint. I'm glad I'm not a retailer. It must be so overwhelming. The fun begins Sunday morning and goes on until Wednesday. I'll post more pictures later.

NSS 2015 Best New Product Finalist

Our SMALL Collection has been chosen as a finalist in the National Stationery Show's Best New Product Competition for 2015! We are so thrilled to have this card line be recognized as it has special meaning. All these cards were created using vintage metal cuts and lead type from the collection of letterpress items from the late Mr. Small. We love the idea of keeping his collection printing for future generations.

All ready for the NSS 2015!

Whew! It's always crazy around here in the month leading up to the National Stationery Show. We shipped our booth items off yesterday and are taking the time today to pick up the studio and relax a little.

This year Jilly Jack Designs will be part of the Ladies of Letterpress group booth. There are a total of 14 letterpress studios that will be exhibiting in this booth. We've been working super hard to prepare for an awesome show. I am so honored to be in this booth with such amazing talent and can't wait to meet them all. They are from all parts of the states as well as a few from different countries. I wish everyone safe travels with no hiccups!

Our new drink recipe series letterpress prints along side our beer lover and cycling letterpress prints. 

A peek at the SMALL Collection and some of the metal cuts that were used to produce the cards.

This year we will be returning to the show with only letterpress work. Our line includes over 25 letterpress art prints and a new line of 4 bar cards, called the SMALL Collection. This collection is a composed of 18 designs that are created with vintage metal cuts and lead type from a collection of letterpress items that we purchased from the late Mr. Small. He was a local hobby printer who also volunteered as the letterpress printer for the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. We are so proud and honored to keep his collection of type and metal cuts printing for future generations.

We have some great special guests coming to sell their wares at our grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 27.

First off is Mindy McCain of Loominarias, hand-dyed and handwoven scarves and shawls.

Signage is up!

Fun with vintage letterpress cuts

Letterpress Demo at west elm

Jilly Jack Designs is so thrilled to be demonstrating letterpress techniques during the launch of west elm's Wedding Registry at the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis, Indiana. We will be there along with Gigi's Cupcakes to help kick off their new registry. I'll have prints on hand for purchase as well as a small table top press for folks to try their hand at printing. There will be a drawing for a west elm wedding gift package too! The event is Thursday, May 1st from 6-8 pm. I hope to see you there!

What I did on my spring break

While on spring break with my family in Cape San Blas Florida, we took a little side trip to the Panama City Publishing Museum in historic St. Andrews, Florida. This small museum was once a thriving print shop that printed the area newspapers. We had a great time learning about the history of the town and the original owners of the business. They had some great presses and a beast of a linotype. To learn more stop by this web site.

Jilly Jack Designs at Restyled Barn Sale

We are so thrilled to be selling our letterpress paper goods at the upcoming Restyled Barn Sale. The sale is hosted by the lovely ladies of Restyled, a fabulous local retailer featuring painted furniture, vintage home decor and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®.

There will be 20 plus juried vendors featuring one-of-a-kind hand made items including: hand-painted furniture, Chalk Paint, repurposed home decor, salvaged architecture, fine art, antiques, jewelry, garden decor and  me with my letterpress printed paper goods.

I'm planing to have my new little tabletop press there for some make and take demonstrations.

Preview Night is Thursday, June 13, 5-8 pm. Your $10 admission gets you first dips on merchandise as well as a live band with great wine and cheese. Preview tickets may be purchased online. Limited quantities are available, so hurry over to www.RestyledBarnSale.com to get yours!

Friday, June 14 hours are 9 am - 3 pm

Jilly Jack Designs newest press: Vandercook Universal I

We are so excited to add this Vandercook Universal I cylinder press to our new studio! We can't wait to share some of the new creations rolling off this press. What a treat!

We are proud to have designed a Thanksgiving card for A Fresh Bunch which is now available on Treat.com. I will always hold Thanksgiving dear to my heart. Remembering all those family gatherings, everyone bringing their special dish to the table, from the turkey to the pumpkin pie. There would always be several Corning Ware casserole dishes involved. So when I think Thanksgiving, my mind goes to all those great dishes spread out on my parent's dining table. My mom still has the same pink and white bowls she used when I was a child.

This year we are thankful for wonderful family and friends. We wish everyone good health and much love this holiday season.
